Ingredients:
8 oz of Ground Meat (turkey, chicken, beef, lamb)
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
1/2 tsp Basil
1/4 tsp Garlic Salt
1/4 tsp Chilli Powder
1 Medium Tomato
1 Medium Onion
1 Large Onion
1/4 Green Bell Pepper
2 Garlic Cloves
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Hemp Hearts
1 Tbsp Flaxseed
3 Tbsp Olive Oil
Directions:
-
In a medium size bowl mix the meat, salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, basil, garlic salt and chilli powder together.
-
Wash and cut the onion, tomato, and bell pepper and place in a blender or NutriBullet along with one egg. Blend and add to mixture.
-
Add the hemp hearts and flaxseed to the mixture and mix in well. The consistency of the mixture should be firm enough to make the shape of the balls. If the mixture is too wet add more flaxseed until you reach the consistency necessary. Pre-construct the meatballs and get them ready to place in the pan.
-
Use a pan with a cover. Preheat the frying pan by placing it on the eye on medium to high heat. Once the pan is hot add the olive oil.
-
Place the pre-constructed meatballs in the pan and allow to cook. Cover the pan for 2 to 3 minutes then flip the meatballs, cover again and allow to cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
-
Slice one large onion (strips) and put to the side.
-
Once you finish cooking all the meatballs, there will be a leftover sauce and oil in the pan. Saute the onions in the leftover sauce. When done place on top of the meatballs.
-
Serve and enjoy!
