I pride myself in having lost weight through exercise and a healthy dieting. However, there are certain parts of my body that just won’t change no matter how much exercise I do and how well I eat. First, its important to note that we basically have TWO different types of fats and both have their merits.
One type of fat is known as white fat tissue. It is stored in Subcutaneous fat which is located underneath the skin. Its purpose is to keep the body's energy up. However, this fat is also known as “STUBBORN FAT”, it just loves to stick around and it happens to be the most abundant type of fat in the body. It is a less dangerous fat when talking about health but for most people it is also not physically wanting or appealing.
The second type of fat is known as brown fat cells, aka Visceral fat. These fat cells lie underneath muscle tissue and are actually deeply wrapped around major internal organs, including the liver, pancreas and kidneys. Brown fat cells burn calories to generate heat and keep body temperature stable. The good news about Visceral fat is that it is the easiest type of fat to lose. The bad news is that it is the most dangerous type of fat to have.
Fat does have a purpose, it doesn’t just store calories. Fat is a living tissue and it produces and releases hormones that affect your organs and overall health. However, it is important to regulate overall body bat and maintain a healthy BMI. Visceral fat can lead to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and many other health problems. Regulate your weight by taking action and follwoing the suggestions listed below:
Adopt a healthier diet and exercise plan.
Reduce alcohol consumption.
Take probiotics to assist with breakdown of foods.
Eat fiber to improving digestive health, lower cholesterol levels, reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes, and keep your weight in check.
Speed up your metabolism by taking fish oil.
Make sure you have no food intolerances or allergies.
Cut back on dairy.
Avoid processed foods.
Stop drinking regular and/or diet sodas.
Avoid consuming fried foods.
Limit margarine intake.
Limit simple carbohydrates, such as white flour, rice, pastas, and cereals.
Avoid sweeteners and refined sugar.
If you are doing all the right things, improved overall health and increased muscle mass but find yourself feeling unsatisfied with your physique, genetics is most likely the reason why. Therefore, it may help to understand the role genetics play on the body’s fat cells.
The total number of fat cells a person has is established in childhood.
Due to cell death the body constantly produces new fat cells to replace broken-down cells.
Overweight people generate and replace more fat cells than do lean people.
The total number of fat cells stays equal after a diet program.
New fat cells are constantly produced regardless of the body’s weight, sex or age.
Fat cells are replaced at the same rate that they die - roughly 10% every year.
The level of obesity is determined by a combination of the number and size of fat cells.
Through diet and exercise the SIZE of a fat cell is decreased noticeably.
When it comes to genetics, scientific solutions are being studied and tested to assist with weight loss.
