Believe me when I say it is important to me to share my journey and have my readers know that I understand the struggle associated with weight. If you have read my bio, you know I have struggled with weight most of my life. Unlike the traditional trainer, I still do!
2016 was a tough year for me physically. As I was on the cusp of reaching my fitness goals, I encountered a huge road block that stopped me on my tracks. Sadly for me, I tour my meniscus and underwent knee surgery. Luckily Meniscus repairs are common and I’ve had a healthy recovery. Slowing down my physical activity was tough but necessary in order to recover. Jiu-Jitsu, pylometric workouts, agility workouts and Olympic lifting all took a back seat this year. The adjustment was not easy and the result was weight gain. I found myself feeling hunger even though my physical activity was drastically decreased. I learned that this is a natural physiological response but it completely sucks! Along with this, I dealt with a bit of depression, being so close to my goals and letting go of my gains was a blow to my ego. But I must lick my wounds and get back in the fight. So, here I go again!
I must say, the best part of this round is that I get to fight the same fight with my clients. We are doing this together, supporting each other and getting it done. Thank you for your continued support!
